Stability Engineering provided design and construction oversight for the adaptive re-use of a former fire station museum along with a set of new structures for a community recreation space as the center of the downtown revitalization of the City of Jonesboro. The existing fire house was modified with new wall openings, and supplemental steel reinforcing members added to the frame to bring the building up to current code requirements for occupancy and support of rooftop mechanical equipment. Other structural features included a wood-framed extension of the building for a coffee bar, exterior patios and new awnings, and foundation support for a custom-steel cantilevered pavilion.
