Snellville Town Center
The Grove Pavilion

Stability Engineering worked with the Landscape Architect to design a bandshell and pavilion structure for downtown Snellville’s new city center. The project went through several iterative designs of the “tree” pavilion, including options with laser cut steel fins and polycarbonate panels, before landing on the final constructed design of telescoping tree branches and canopies. The primary structural complication was leaving an open side of the perimeter colonnade for the stage to face out onto the adjacent lawn. Other structural design work included integrated lighting, an electrical conduit running through the steel trunk, and coordination for the site and hardscape paving.
