Cricket Frog Trail Trestle Bridge

About the Project

Stability Engineering worked with Kaizen Collaborative and the PATH Foundation to renovate the old railroad trestle bridge crossing Dried Indian Creek in Covington, Georgia. For this project, we provided a thorough structural assessment and engineering to renovate the existing trestle bridge. Due to water and insect damage, many of the timber piles, beams, and bracing members were replaced, along with new concrete abutments at each end.  A new poured-in-place slab was added to serve as the walking surface of the trail along with custom steel cable handrails.  Stability Engineering is continuing to work with the PATH Foundation in the design of a new bridge and rehabilitation of a steel plate girder bridge over the Alcovy River.  Once this bridge is completed the Cricket Frog trail will offer 14 continuous paved miles of trail for the community.
