For this project, the rooms at the front of Jasper Memorial Hospital and Retreat Nursing Home were completely renovated and enlarged to include private restrooms with showers, requiring modifications and structural enhancements to the original 1950’s hospital building. In addition, an existing one-story garage accessory building was replaced with a new two-story annex which now houses administrative offices and conference rooms, laundry, and facilities maintenance space. An ambulatory area in the back of the building and an exterior generator pad were also added.
This project was partially funded by the Georgia HEART Hospital Program, which helps rural and critical access hospital organizations by increasing their ability to provide for the health care needs of thousands of Georgians. The program offers tax credits up to a cap of $75 million to Georgia taxpayers who donate to these hospitals serving counties with populations under 50,000.
