The buildings at 159 Ralph McGill Boulevard in Atlanta, Georgia originally served as the administrative headquarters for the North Georgia Conference of the Methodist Church. Constructed in 1966, they are a great example of the modern architecture of their time. Our project team provided structural design and construction oversight for the renovation of the six-story building into a 51-unit apartment building over two levels of underground basement parking. Structural repairs included reinforcing of concrete joists, slabs, and columns at cored and deteriorated members, as well as extensive repairs to the brick veneer and retrofit details to accommodate architectural features and MEP equipment. Repairs also included rehabilitation of the courtyard elevated slab over parking, and the striking and unique 12-sided chapel building.
