Stability Engineering worked closely with the ownership group to save the historic Adair School building from an active state of collapse. At the time of our first tour of the building there were active roof leaks and large areas of collapsed floor framing. The project involved extensive repairs and re-framing throughout the building to adapt and reuse the property and create micro apartments. Original field-framed timber trusses were saved as much as possible, utilizing steel channel reinforcement members. All efforts were made to save the original framing if it could be saved. The exterior masonry shell of the building was in fair shape for the age of the building and was mostly left in its original shape with minor masonry repairs throughout.
