Terra School at Serenbe

The Terra School Primary/Middle Studios is a sleek, purpose-built educational space featuring custom steel framing to meet the spatial and load-bearing demands of the bold modern design, and a striking cantilevered canopy at the main entrance that provides function and architectural expression.

Designed with a strong emphasis on environmental integration and structural efficiency, the two-story, 28,000sf building is composed of two classroom wings constructed as independent stacks connected by a spacious, open-air corridor. Each wing houses four classrooms and dedicated STEM spaces. The classrooms each have large window openings to maximize natural light, and an individual outdoor covered terrace supported by exposed steel, allowing both visual and physical connection to the surrounding natural landscape.

The Studios facility also houses key support areas such as a secure main entry, administrative offices, conference rooms, and an infirmary, and the building is EarthCraft Light Commercial Certified, recognizing its commitment to energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and occupant health. In addition, the structural system also accommodates advanced mechanical systems, including geothermal heating and cooling, as well as Tesla solar panels mounted for optimal energy capture.
