For this commercial project bordering the lovely Duluth Town Green, the intention was to design an open building that resembles a half-open jewel box. The cantilever roof was designed using sloped exposed steel beams. A customized roof system uses unconventional and innovative side plates to transfer the axial load and resist uplift and lateral forces. It’s great to have been part of creating this project that adds to the appeal of this great community gathering space.
