Stability Engineering has provided ongoing observations and repair details of the brick veneer as part of the renovation of this 10-story building that provides affordable housing in Atlanta, Georgia. Many of the lintels had been exposed to the elements and the steel lintel had expanded causing the brick veneer to shift and crack.
We also provided engineering details for new mechanical pads, entry canopy, rooftop openings for RTUs, handrail and guardrail posts, trash compactor enclosure, and an ADA-compliant concrete ramp. In the low-rise units, we provided details for roof sheathing and modified existing roof trusses to accommodate new attic access doors, and in the leasing office, we provided details for new openings and an in-wall safe. We provided details to repair sinking concrete steps, existing slab using carbon fiber reinforcement, as well as a structural narrative on the masonry site walls around the property.
