Located on Church Street at the southeastern edge of downtown Decatur and near the PATH trail to Stone Mountain is a new commercial film editing and production facility with quite a modern design. The 5400 square foot steel-framed facility includes studio and office spaces, and a loading dock. In addition, a rooftop deck with open views and an open-air interior courtyard framed by the surrounding steel structure provide multiple gathering and collaborative spaces. We used Autodesk Revit 3D models for advanced visualization and multi-discipline coordination, as well as RISA 3D analysis models for cost-effective solutions. These included knee braces as lateral resisting components to accommodate the architectural requirements of this modern design.
