Greenbelt West Georgia

The Greenbelt West Georgia is a portion of the Carrollton Greenbelt, a 16-mile trail system that, once complete, will connect neighborhoods, the city school campus, the University of West Georgia, city parks, and commercial areas. This section of trail is 1.7 miles long and provides connectivity and recreational opportunities for students within the campus, and has improved several existing pedestrian intersections. The structural elements for this section of trail include retaining walls, pre-cast concrete structural slabs, a cast in place concrete bridge, and two simple span steel beam bridges. The structural elements were designed with purpose and with aesthetics in mind to match design elements around campus. Shown here are the 117-foot pedestrian bridge, a 20-foot concrete bridge, and a 60-foot steel bridge.
