Superica at Krog

Stability Engineering provided structural design for this 7000 s.f. restaurant space renovation within the Krog Street Market redevelopment. Design features include metal and steel-framed interior and exterior freestanding masonry walls, steel-framed halo over exterior bar, and exterior patio foundation walls. The coordination and marrying of new structure to the existing 1920s-era warehouse provided unique engineering challenges, particularly the freestanding masonry wall at the exterior bar, which is tied into the existing truck loading dock roof structure.

Krog Street Market is located at 99 Krog Street near Inman Park, along the BeltLine trail at Edgewood Avenue and within walking distance of Marta. Owned by Paces Properties, it is a mixed-use development that incorporates two parcels on either side of Krog street. The development both preserves and revitalizes the west side of the property, originally Atlanta Stove Works from 1889 through 1998, and incorporates the east side which was formerly occupied by Tyler Perry Studios. The complex centers around a west coast-style market with restaurants and market stalls offering produce, goods, and prepared food, and will also include up to 300 apartments.
